2014 Award for Service – Sandy Johnston, Whangarei

Sandy was the president, secretary and newsletter editor for the Wanganui Philatelic Society for many years.  While resident in Whangarei she was an active member of the Whangarei Philatelic Society and although now country member visits regularly and assists with major events.  Sandy has been a committee member of the Thematic Association and is one of their more active members providing material for articles and raising queries and making comments aimed at clarifying issues that have arisen.She has given talks in both Whangarei and the lower half of the North Island and has assisted and promoted exhibiting both formally in workshops and informally in the Taranaki area.

Regularly attending National exhibitions, Sandy has always assisted where necessary as she has also  for many of the smaller exhibitions, displays, events in the North Island.

2014 Award for Service – Andrea Bevan, North Shore

Andrea has been a member of the North Shore Philatelic Society since 1982 and a member of the Philatelic Youth Council (PYC) since its inception in 1985.

She has been a youth exhibitor up to international level and was secretary to the jury at Northpex 1992, Northpex 1993, Stampex 1995 and Stampex 1997.

From 2000 Andrea has assisted in the preparation and editing of Fun Philately, the quarterly newsletter of PYC.

2014 Award for Service – Sue Vernall, Wellington

Sue Vernall has been an active member of the Wellington Philatelic Society for many years. She has been newsletter editor for six years, is a committee member (in her two terms over ten years) and membership secretary for four years.

She has been a national and international exhibitors since 2001 in four different classes and has been secretary to the jury at three national exhibitions.

Sue is a philatelic judge and is Treasurer and editor of the Assoc of NZ Philatelic Judges.

She has given talks to a many clubs and societies in the immediate Wellington area and further afield in Taranaki, Hawkes Bay and Manawatu.
