The Wellington Philatelic Society, formed in 1922, has hundreds of stamp collectors who collect stamps for the fun of it. We cater for novice and junior collectors of all ages through to serious collectors.

Our October meeting is the first to be held in this venue.

Stamp Circuit
A benefit of membership is the right to join the circuit system. This provides an opportunity for members to sell or purchase stamps at ‘mates rates’.

You receive, by hand or mail, books of stamps to select from. You take what you want, pass the book on to the next person on the list and send your remittance advice to the Circuit Manager. We put you as near as possible to other members in your area to avoid or reduce postage costs.

The club’s commission rate is 15%. A 1% insurance levy on the value of material offered is charged. There is no buyer’s commission deducted. Any material you offer for sale is mounted, by you, on appropriate pages and inserted in the circuit books by the Circuit Manager as soon as he is able.

To join you complete the Society’s application form. Payment of the membership fee opens your circuit account and you should get your first book shortly after.

Newsletter
A lively newsletter is produced every month except December. This provides details of forthcoming meetings and society news, stamp events and fairs in the Wellington area, forthcoming stamp issues, a report of the previous meeting and snippets of news from here and abroad.

Fees
Annual membership fees are:
Town members (those living in Wellington, Hutt, Porirua or Upper Hutt cities) $35.00,
Country members $25.00.
Reduced rates are available for those over 65 on written application.
All fees are reduced by $5.00 if paid by the set date (usually 31 March of each year).
